According to the IEC 364-7-701 standard, the bathroom has four zones:
Zone 0 is the interior of a bathtub or shower basin. Equipment and fittings installed there should have a degree of protection not less than IPX7.
Zone 1 is limited by the following planes: vertical – running along the outer edge of the tub, shower basin or 0.60 m from the shower in the absence of a shower basin, and horizontal – running at a height of 2.25 m from the floor level. Equipment and fittings there should have a protection degree not less than IPX5, e.g. shower heater IP25 permanently installed, protected by a 30 mA residual current device.
Zone 2 is limited by the following planes: vertical – running at a distance of 0.60 m outside from the plane bounding zone 1 and horizontal running at a height of 2.25 m from the floor level. Equipment and fittings located in this zone should have a protection degree of not less than IPX4, e.g. water heater IP24 permanently installed (socket in zone 3), lighting fittings in protection class II (switch in zone 3).
Zone 3 is limited by the following planes: vertical – running at a distance of 2.40 m outside from the plane bounding zone 2 and horizontal running at a height of 2.25 m from the floor level. Equipment and accessories in zone 3 should have a protection degree of not less than IPX1, e.g. permanently installed water heater, washing machine, wall heater IP24, lighting fittings in protection class II, lighting switches, plug sockets, IP44.
All wall lamps and lighting panels available in the Elite offer have IP44 protection, so we suggest installing them in the 3rd security zone.
